Steven

Musical Composer

Steven Stark began playing in bands at Oklahoma City University while working on a degree in music composition. The Empty Suits played irreverent art-house rock to the lost post-grunge, pre-hipster crowd. After a stint in Austin, Steven joined The Fellowship Students who added their multi-voiced, rhythmic fare to OKC’s creative rock scene. Steven has released many solo albums and was awarded the Oklahoma Gazette’s 2005 award for best singer-songwriter. As a cellist and guitarist he has toured and recorded with the Starlight Mints and The Lovely Sparrows. He has accompanied Smoky Robinson and Ian Moore on stage and has toured China with the Oklahoma City University Orchestra. He plays in many local string quartets and regional symphony orchestras and has contributed to recording projects by Student Film, Ryan Lindsey, Matthew Alvin Brown and former Blue Clues host Steve Burns among many others. As a composer, Steven has been commissioned to write works for the Enid Symphony Orchestra and the Edmond Memorial Orchestra. He also composed music for the short film “Daniel” by Austin filmmaker Jason Cooper which has shown at several film festivals. He is currently working on original music for the documentary “Where Did The Horny Toad Go?”
